Set up remote access from a Windows 7 PC to your STK PC

Locate the Remote Desktop Connection app on your Start Menu under Programs, and then Accessories.

When you launch it, you’ll see the following window:

Click Show Options

The window will change as follows:

Click the Advanced tab. The following will appear:

In the Connect from Anywhere sectionClick Settings and the following popup will appear:

Update the screen as follows:

Select Use these RD Gateway server settings.
For Server name, type remote.santok.com
For Logon method, select Ask for password (NTLM) from the dropdown list.
Under Logon settings, tick the box that says Use me RD Gateway credentials for the remote computer.

At the end of it, the screen should look like the following:

Click OK and you’ll be returned to the Advanced tab.

Click the General tab.

In the Computer field enter your unique PC name, it will be something like name.santok.local. If you don't know this please request it from I.T. by email. You will then end up with something similar to the following screen:

Click Connect

You will be prompted for your username and password. Please enter them as normal, noting that your username should be of the format Santok\username
Your password is the one you use to login to your computer and should be entered as normal.

If all goes well, you should be connected to your office desktop machine and will have access to the same folders and applications just as you would from your own desk.

Subsequent Use

The next time you launch Remote Desktop Connection, it should remember all the previous settings, but will not display the advanced options. Instead, it may be similar to the following:

Computer should already be filled in with the computer name you connected to previously.
